Escalator

Escalator is an independent label founded by Masashi Naka, in 1990.

Now the company runs a small but much-lauded record store and cafe in Harajuku, Tokyo. Recently, Escalator has expanded to create three imprint labels—Every Conversation Records, Crazy To Exist, and Big Love—all of which are directly tied to the boutique.

Naka also hosts an Internet radio show, "Radio Escalator," and one of Tokyo's best club nights at the legendary Mishuku Web club.

The Escalator family is bound together, too, by a mutual love for fashion, beer, curry, and, of course, music!
