The Journal Gallery is pleased to present "Some Drawings," a collection of new work by New York artist Eddie Martinez. The result of Martinez’s practice of constant documentation of his surroundings, the pieces in this show capture the artist’s frenetic energy and joyful, off-kilter view of the world. The drawings feature reoccurring objects and characters, brought to life over and over in Martinez’s wild strokes in pen and marker on paper. This is Eddie Martinez’s first solo show at The Journal Gallery.
Eddie Martinez was born in 1977 and lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. His paintings and drawings have been featured in shows at the Athens Biennial, Zieher Smith and Deitch Projects in New York, LOYAL Gallery in Stockholm, and Peres Projects, Berlin, among others.
