Sigur Rós' Heima Now On... YouTube?

Sigur Rós are notorious for having made some... out of the ordinary decisions over the course of their career. They gave the worst interview on NPR ever; they physically walked out of the interview Anthem held with them; they generally aren't well liked by those who aren't first and foremost fans of their music.

While last year's 97-minute feature-film, Heima, had some redeeming characteristics (expertly recorded in a manner that emulated a bona fide live performance, beautifully filmed), they all fall flat under closer inspection (the film winds up feeling like an overextended promo clip and nothing more). Now that Sigur Rós has taken it upon themselves to stream the entire movie on YouTube, though, we're convinced that Heima has completely lost all potential to move and affect its audience.

But be our guest and watch the movie. It's so wonderfully distorted, fuzzy, and low-fi... about thirty minutes in, LonelyGirl15 makes a cameo appearance. And we just can't wait until some bozo in Boise decides to post a video retort to all the "haters" out there (i.e. Anthem), dissing his precious Hopelandic band.

Nice try promoting the DVD. Geez.
