Radiohead "Museum" In Tokyo

We all know that CDs in Japan cost five, ten, fifteen dollars more than U.S. discs, but the Japanese music distributors and record labels attempt to make up for this price gap by frequently offering free add-ons, bonus tracks, and random swag. Practically every Western band's Japanese release comes with a couple of extra tracks tacked on or a limited poster or bag of fanboy stickers. Shibuya's Tower Records has outdone itself, though: the humongous store will host a Radiohead "museum" from June 3 through June 5 in an attempt to get more customers shelling out $20, $25 for Radiohead's Best Of compilation.

While we're perfectly content with our American copy of the retrospective, we would love to check out this collection of rare vinyl, exclusive video footage, and much, much more. We've been planning on heading back to the Land of the Rising Sun for months now, and maybe this will convince us to finally book that flight!

New York-Tokyo says:

The Tower Records in Shibuya will exhibit all the rare vinyls, exclusive footage, and Thom Yorke’s sweaty towels on display for you to see. Along with the exhibit, there will be a serial publication of inside stories on them, along with projections of their DVDs Live in Astoria and Meeting People is Easy on the big screen. This is all coinciding with their recent release of The Best Of greatest hits collection in Japan.

June 3rd 4pm – 10pm
June 4th 7pm – 10pm
June 5th 4pm – 9pm

Nice. Check out the "museum"'s index of goods right here.
