Los Angeles, with it's sprawling terrain, vast landscape, and hodge-podge of neighborhoods, regions, and "districts" doesn't immediately seem like the most inspiring place or a city that would breed any sort of sustainable art scene. Increasingly, though, the metropolis' art community is growing and maturing, and the annual Los Angeles Art Weekend festival is here to make us all know that well!
The event will showcase works by the likes of Kara Walker, Lawrence Weiner, Michael Asher, and many more over the course of four days (April 10 - 13), spread out amongst thirteen or so galleries, museums, and other spaces. If you're in the L.A. region during that time, be sure to check out some of the exhibits that fall under the umbrella of the Los Angeles Art Weekend... and be exposed to the rare and unusual explosion of nightlife in the downtown district of the city.
