Those crazy Parisians. From our distanced perspective, they just can't seem to stop dancing! While we know this not to be the case, the French do release quite a lot of electronic stuff, mixes in particular.
And doubtless, Kitsuné Records is one of the best at it. The independent label asked Berlin's Digitalism to put together the first Kitsuné Tabloid mix, and we love it. Kitsuné will be "inviting its favorite DJ's to tell a story through a personal mix, the mix being seen as the newspaper and the DJ's as editor in chief." A clever concept, eh? Digitalism's compilation is a solid start, though, featuring the likes of the B52s, the Kills, CSS, Midnight Juggernauts, the Jonzun Crew, Zombie Nation, the Human League, Shadowdancer, and Spank Rock.
