It's hard to dislike photographer Terry Richardson. Even if he's doing high-paying gigs for the likes of Belvedere Vodka, his work is always a pleasure to look at and certainly has a tremendous amount of cultural standing. One could say that Richardson reinvigorated our society's love for the caught-in-the-moment, au naturale snapshot. A Kodak Moment means something completely new now thanks to Richardson.
While the man's been discussed and documented at length and in great detail through books, magazines, and films, it's rare for him to speak about his own stuff and his unique artistic perspectives, so his short YouTube clip for Belvedere (featured above) comes as a welcome surprise!
As much as some folks like to diss Richardson's art, he very clearly understands the artistic and aesthetics merits of his work, and "Terry Richardson on Communicating with People" is testament to that. Now we know for sure that our envy of Richardson's eye is not unfounded—this man's a genius!
