First of all, if you haven’t seen the Duplass Brothers' Puffy Chair, your life is incomplete and you should rent it immediately. Secondly, if you live in New York or Los Angeles, you should mark your calendar for this weekend’s opening of their sophomore feature, Baghead. It’s a quirky indie thriller that, surprisingly, has as much in common with Blair Witch Project and Funny Games as it does Mutual Appreciation.
Don’t live in New York or L.A.? No worries—pick up the current issue of Anthem for a Q&A with the Duplass Brothers themselves, who taught us how to make bagheads scary enough to scare the shit out of your friends. You’ll also find a profile on Baghead star Greta Gerwig—who is, we hear, shooting another movie in which Iggy Pop plays her dad. We can’t wait.
Baghead opens today in NYC at AMC Empire 25 in Times Square and at Sunshine Cinema; LA opening is at Sunset 5.
