If you're proud to be a Los Angelino or just a fan of the city's burgeoning D.I.Y. music scene, Post Present Medium's forthcoming DVD release, the stellar New Video Works, is made for you!
PPM has been putting out recordings by the likes of No Age, Mika Miko, Abe Vigoda, and loads of other great L.A. bands, but this is their first film release. The thirty-one-track DVD features live performances by a whole mess of bands that have either passed through the City of Angels or are at the town's musical core. Deerhunter, High Places, and Xiu Xiu represent a portion of the non-townies while Abe Vigoda, Mika Miko, and No Age are some of the Californians. The best thing about it all is that every chapter is immaculately filmed and truly captures the experience of going to a show at now-infamous all-ages club, the Smell or a few other nearby venues and the character of the "scene" that this city has birthed over the past decade or so.
New Video Works will be available in N. American starting on August 19 for $15.99
