While we wait for the next Lily Allen and Kate Nash LPs, record labels are probably scrambling to find someone, somewhere to fill the void the two U.K. chanteuses have created on Top 40 radio.
While Florence and the Machine ought not be pigeonholed as being a part of the Lily Lineage—her voice is simply too good, her charisma too bold, and her sense of pop construction and arrangement too fleshed-out and vital—one can see how she might appeal to a similar demographic.
Florence has already released the "Kiss With A Fist" single in the U.S. via IAMSOUND Records, so be sure to get that if you can, and keep an eye out on the young singer—her future looks bright!
As part of her campaign to "take over America," Florence put together a really fun mixtape that's sprinkled with her personal commentary on each of the tracks. Love this girl. It doesn't get any better.
